How to screenshot on a MacBook Neo
A MacBook Neo takes screenshots like every Mac: press Shift-Command-3 (⇧⌘3) to capture the whole screen, or Shift-Command-4 (⇧⌘4) and drag on the trackpad to capture a part. The picture is saved to the desktop. Its keyboard has no Print Screen key; Shift is on both sides of the keyboard and Command right next to the space bar.

Find the keys
- Shift (⇧): the long keys at both ends of the bottom-but-one row.
- Command (⌘): on both sides of the space bar.
- Control (⌃): bottom left, next to the fn/globe key. Add it to copy instead of saving.
- 3, 4, 5: the number keys in the row under the function keys.
Take a screenshot of a part of the screen
- Hold Shift and Command and press 4. The pointer turns into a crosshair.
- Press on the trackpad and drag over what you want, then let go.
- A thumbnail appears in the bottom-right corner: click it to draw on the screenshot or crop it, or leave it and the file lands on the desktop.
All the screenshot keys on a MacBook Neo
| What you want | Keys |
|---|---|
| The whole screen | ⇧⌘3 |
| A part of the screen | ⇧⌘4, then drag |
| A window | ⇧⌘4, then Space, then click |
| Every option, and screen recording | ⇧⌘5 |
| A part, copied to paste elsewhere | ⌃⇧⌘4, then ⌘V where you need it |
The display is Retina, so full-screen screenshots are big files. Capture only the part you need with ⇧⌘4, or change the format: PNG to JPG.
Coming from Windows or a phone?
There is no Print Screen key and no app to open first: the keys above work anywhere, in any app. Win + Shift + S on Windows is ⇧⌘4 here; see the screenshot tool for Windows users.
Do more with each screenshot
SimpleShot is a free capture app for Mac that answers the same keys. Every capture is copied and saved at once, with a thumbnail to drag into a message. Its editor adds arrows, numbered steps and blur, Hide Sensitive Data covers e-mail addresses, phone and card numbers and keys in one click, and ⌥⇧⌘T copies the text of any part of the screen. It is made for Macs with Apple chips running macOS 26 or later; MacBook Neo has an Apple A18 Pro chip. Captures stay on your Mac.
